Top 5 Albums of 2013! - Matthew Phillips!

Next up on our Top 5's of 2013 we have Matthew Phillips. Matthew did a great interview with us back in 2012 and you can check it out here.

Take it away Matthew...

In 2013, only one of my absolute “favourite” bands (Welsh rockers Stereophonics) released one of my top albums, so it’s been a slightly disappointing year for me.

Here are the albums I enjoyed the most that were released in 2013:

Jason Newsted - Metal EP
(February 11, 2013)

Stereophonics - Graffiti on The Train / Deluxe edition
(April 2, 2013)
Skid Row - United World Rebellion / Chapter One EP
(April 20, 2013)

Beady Eye - BE / Deluxe edition
(June 21, 2013)
Queensr├┐che - S/T deluxe edition w/ new singer Todd LaTorre
(July 31, 2013)

Honorable Mentions Of 2013:
Coney Hatch – Four

I only have an MP3 rip of this, but it’s great classic rock album from this reformed Canadian band, and I plan on buying a copy of this on CD in the new year.

Devin Townsend Project – The Retinal Circus
(November 5, 2013)

My favorite Canadian artist. This was a career-spanning show recorded in London in 2012 and I got a copy of the deluxe edition boxset that came with 1 Bluray, 2 CDs and 2 DVDs in an LP-sized box with some insane memorabilia.
Queensr├┐che - Frequency Unknown
(June 7, 2013)

Their record company, Cleopatra Records, sent me 3 free copies of the remixed version of this album by mistake. I ended up with 6 copies of this record, including 4 CDs, 1 vinyl and something I haven't bought in at least 20 years: a cassette tape.

2013 releases I have been meaning to get:
• Joe Satriani – Unstoppable Momentum
• Monster Truck - Furiosity
• Newsted – Heavy Metal Music (full length album)
• Coney Hatch – Four
• Avenged Sevenfold – Hail To The King
• Rhapsody Of Fire – Dark Wings Of Steel
• The Winery Dogs – S/T
